Our Wine

Sunset Vista wines are created primarily from the harvest of our 2 small vineyards, established in 2011 and 2015, in Grand Isle Vermont.

Our first harvest was 2014, giving us our first taste in 2016 from our first vineyard and in 2018 we had our first wine tasting from our second vineyard. We believe our wine making experiments have gone well and we are now able to produce enough wine to share with you. Our Marquette and Petite Pearl wines, as well as some trial blends, have been well received by friends who enjoy a good glass of wine.

Our small batch approach to wine making provides for both varietal and blending wine experiments to produce delicious wines for a variety of preferences.

Our Vineyards

In 2011 we planted our first vineyard, for our red wines we have Marquette (300) and Petite Pearl (60), and our white wines are La Crescent (120) and Prairie Star (70). We also enjoy some Somerset Seedless (24) for snacking while working in the vineyard.

In 2015 we planted a second vineyard where we have additional Marquette (56), Petite Pearl (48), Prairie Star (20) along with some Frontenac Blanc (20) and Blue Bell (8) for snacking.

In 2021 we took over a small third vineyard on the east side of the island from a friend and fellow wine maker. We are very grateful to have additional Marquette (40), Petite Pearl (40), and some Adalmiina (8).

In 2011 everything is new, we had no ‘real’ idea of what was ahead, but we looked forward to the entire adventure!
